Access Control Alarms
Access Control provides a method for business owners to
control who enters a workplace or a specific area of
the workplace.
An alarm system notifies
if a person has intruded on an armed premises and a
Closed Circuit Television System
records what has occurred at a location after someone has gained entry.
An Access Control System, however, allows entry to only authorized
persons and prevents entry to all others.
The access to any given area can be determined based on the
person, the time of day, or the day of the week. Access
readers are placed at each of the control points and employees
or other persons who need access are given an access card, or
in simpler systems, a control number. When they need to enter
they swipe the card or enter the control number and the access
control system works with the customer's door locks to unlock
the door, allow entry, and record data regarding the entry
onto a computer system.
An access control system can be used for one site or can
span numerous sites. The systems can expand to cover over
100 entry points. The entry points can include a gate system
as well as doors.
The access control system is an extremely customized system,
depending on the number of entry points needing coverage, the
construction of the door and walls around those entry points,
the existing locking mechanism, the necessity of future growth,
and the number of persons needing access. There are many other
considerations in addition to these, therefore, a site survey
is needed with all access control systems.
